Octopus

I saw these yesterday at Elex, Sandown Park:

Hum.... despite it saying its been uploaded I can't add it!

Anyway its very similar to the CK electricians toolbag (I'm on my 3rd but the zip stitching is RUBBISH).

Anyone got one?

Thanks

Yep, retirement gizit, well I wernt going to leave behind when I left was I?

Like trying to get blood out of a stone. I'll come back tomorrow and see if there's any sort of review. :D

Anyway, they're a bit pricy. Straying into Veto Pro Pac territory. Not that that's a problem if they're good enough.

What didn't you like about the CK? I've had a few and they've always lasted well, I usually get 4 or 5 years out of them before a zip goes but I don't carry heavy installation kit like hammers and chisels etc. Incidentally they're on offer this weekend for 37 of your UK pounds.

Is it any good?

and more importantly, would you recommend them?
Plenty of pockets and loops the only downside is the limited space in the center compartment, zippers are very strong, tape holder and insulation tape holder also very good, good strong bottom and tough fabric sides. Oh Handysparks, I would by choice go fro a Veto as well but seeing mine was, shall we say on the cheap side, I wasn't about to look a gift horse in the mouth was I? not bleeding so much now though.

Not really a cheap price, was looking at them on amazon last night for 85.
And the prof elec magazines review is pretty biased in my opinion. I mean you cant really say its ---- when youve just been given a bag loaded with klein tools.

Still trying to find a review on them though.
And i agree every ck has gone on the same part of the stitching but im wanting to go back to the ck from the veto.

Purchased a CK back pack to replace an existing one where the zip had gone.
Got the bag home, transferred my tools, left out some stuff that I hadn't really used. Picked up bag shoulder strap came away, stitching gone.
Took bag back got a replacement.
Stitching lasted a couple of months.
Replaced it with a Stanley.

thing is with the Stanley backpack, the shoulder straps are part of the structure of the bag so no stitching can go. I've been testing the zips during daily use, they've held up well but I know I'll be gutted the day it goes. I don't think that Klein will be super quality but I would give it a go if it were £40 - no more (but then I am skint)
