Been looking at these two in particular. The Leica Disto 2 and the Bosch DLE 70 Pro, can't really see much difference in them and they're about the same price?

Anybody any experience with these tools?

Got the disto great bit of kit, looked at the Bosch they are about the same quality. The only reason I went for the disto in the end is because I got it at cost. Either one will be a great asset to your tool box.

I've used the disto d2 for a good while, no probs at all, however when using over a great distance i.e. over 15 mtrs, then it sometimes struggles to get the reflectance, esp when its in a bright environment, but to be honest they prob all do that.

Ahhhh remember the days when you did not get any reflectance with a water level :D

How do you measure distance with the water level? freeze it then take the ice out and use your tape measure??
I have the bosch and it works great, only 50M but any greater you just stand in middle of floor and measure both ways.

Glyn now it was a little mischievious post by me hope you havn't had a sense of humour bypass mate.

I use laser lights now espicially if i'm on my own but was just harking back to the warm glow of yester year, of water levels, chalk lines. and a measuring tape, and using them there was none of that trying to see the line.

I remeber the times when we just paced out the cable length then adde a bit for luck, i only use the laser now to save my old bones?

;):D;) Nice one glyn good man ................no you must have a sense of humour or madness to want to be in this game.

I worked with an old lad that had a yard peice of string balled up in his pocket to measure everything and I mean everything !!!
