Fitting led strip lights in plant room, with diffuser, fitted base had probs fitting guts to base,so switched light on,& tried to push fitting on to base, stupid me,had my hands on led lights & got a shock. These leds give quite a belt, surely this could be dangerous for anyone, beware,is this really allowed.

The voltage at any LED block should be no more than 50V at max so technically safe.
I think I have seen 37V specified in a lot of cases, obviously if you have LED strip supplied from a driver then the voltage should be no more than the driver rating.
