Just the way I do it - thoroughly.

In this case it would have saved time and I'm personally not keen on the linked live to neutral test either
 
Where practicable I always test the entire dis. board in parallel. As stated RCBOs can make that impracticable.

But either way we need to consider the effect of the results in parallel, as the minimum values of insulation resistance quoted in BS 7671:2008 (2015) are for the whole installation, or in larger installations a distribution board with all final circuits connected in parallel. They are not minimum values for a single final circuit.
 
It would not have been the end of the world,to test at the neutral bar/MCB's,while the circuits were disconnected,and work out where this reading originated from,including any issue with the actual board.

I could not have left,before answering my own question ;)
