Just your thoughts on this one, recently did a bit of work at a factory unit, there are several units being used by a company.
The electrics are really pretty bad,my concern is main bonding of structural metal work, can't really see any Earth conductors to these.
In the one area there are steels for the roof, but are not connected together, this roof got wooden rafters, with the steels holding these & the roof up.
Would these need to be bonded together, which would entail quite a lot of work, these premises have been occupied for a least 20 years,& left like this.
It's really for a visual only report, after the work our company finished,& peace of mind, cheers.

If there are roof steels that are just supporting the roof then they will not be extraneous conductive parts because they are not referenced to earth and so will not need bonding.
If they are steel beams bolted to steel uprights that are buried in the ground then they should be bonded, but they would all be connected together by the mounting bolts.
Obviously you could test the metal work for resistance to true earth to see if they need bonding.

Thank you, they are referenced to Earth, not too sure they will be connected via roof bolts, will test resistance, off to earn a pound now, have a nice day.
