hello guys

I need some advice on and EICR job.
On the MET we have two main bonding conductors 10mm each.
Water is fine however I cannot find the gas bond connection on the pipe.
I know it is connected to the pipe as a long lead test gives me 0.02.
The pipes resistance rises as I disconnect the main bond and clamp between the met and gas pipe.
What would you guys advise as I cannot see the connection within 600mm of the Pipe.
Code 3 advise having the bond reinstalled?

Did you disconnect both ends i.e. From the MET as well?
If still connected you may pick up parallel paths from say a cpc connected to the boiler through the gas pipe from the central heating circuit for example.

Sorry re read it yes you did! o_O

That would make the overall assessment unsatisfactory.
I'm not sure it deserves that.
The way I view it is if you're there to do an EICR, you're not there to tear the house apart to do so, in all probability you've given them a fixed price for the EICR which would cover basic, reasonable, investigative actions you'd need to take in order to complete the EICR. If you can't because of e.g. this situation then it comes under additional work/cost required and is explained/justified by the FI code.
