O

Octopus

The Irony is it took me 3 months to get a rebate back from them and they refused all correspondence except by post, I like how they won't comply with the digital technology but are forcing everyone else to do so, on asking why they informed me it was for security reasons which I stressed that we already do submit VAT and Income on line so where is the security issue if I want to discuss errors they have made to my tax... no answer to that question is all I got.

For me I suppose it will just mean my accountants bill will increase as he will submit this information on my behalf. If I do it I'll mess it up.

But that means you will need to have 3 more meetings with him per year!

How do you do your accounts? paper based, excel, business software?

Excel. My previous accountant had a monthly sheet sent, my current accountant takes a yearly submission, but all 12 sheets are totalled on the final sheet anyway.
I'd prefer to have the extra meetings if necessary, as in a previous part time business many years ago, attempting to submit my own accounts with the aid of the very helpful local taxman (at the time) would have cost me a considerable sum had I not finally have an accountant intervene when I closed the business.

Apart from more accounts costs I suppose it will just fall in line with the vat submissions every quarter.

I've heard ducks fart before...

If their respective departments, over the years, could not handle the current number of submissions x contact requirements...they are going to quadruple that scenario?
If there are poor suckers on 120 days+ credit terms, and swallowing,it seems obtuse,to insist the great British SE are made to shape up quarterly.

We will probably have to just get violated and hope some judge has a wallet-doll,so we show him where the HMRC touched us...
