Good evening everyone,

I have always used 18mm ply for new meter/cu boards, but i,ve got some 18 mm MDF left over from another project, can anyone think of a reason not to use this?

Kind regards

David Long

Evening Dillb,
Thanks for the quick reply, nothing wrong with the wall at all, I just like to stand the board off the wall with battens behind to hide the cables witha back entry into the cu. David

Each to there own, but unless the wall is in terrible condition then mounting directly too it is the best was to mount DBs in a domestic environment.

I don't know Dillb, there's a lot to be said for rear entry (fnarr fnarr). It usually means you don't have to worry too much about the CU's IP rating
