Hi,

I need a replacement push button MEM MCB 45A push button fuse. Can anyone help? Please let me know if you have one for sale or know where to source one. Here are a few pics to help identify it.IMG_0291.jpgIMG_0290.jpgIMG_0288.jpg

Looking again the board is quite standard, still see a lot of these around generally have HRC fuses and solid as anything, really well made stuff back in the 70s/80s and loads of wiring space, never seen any birdsnest messes in any unit like these.Good luck hunting down an mcb. These are MEM QCB range,so 45 amp may well be QCB45 or 45QCB.

fitting a shower? if so, he's better off adding a 1 or 2 way mini CU with RCD protection.

Edit ... Just looked at pic 3 ... These are obsolete and no longer comply as above what exactly is your reason you need on, have you done some additions or alterations? If so you will require to meet 17th addition and a board this old wants updating really.

It looks like he already has the shower circuit using the 45A MCB shown removed from the board. The top half of the MCB looks discoloured so I suspect it has overheated and failed due to poor contact, however if the pin has become very hot it might also have damaged the contact in the board. In this case fitting a new MCB might not be sufficient as this will not make proper contact. The board should be inspected and if there are signs of damage to the plastic or loss of springiness of the contact it would be best to replace the board.

If I get a minute later on I'll have a look through the old spares box in my store, I've a feeling I MIGHT have one. If so, the currency of trade is likely to be 21yr old virgins at a rate of two per amp.

where will you find any 21 year old virgins in somerset? :smilielol5::smilielol5:

Precisely why I was getting so excited. Sadly, will have to stay in my dreams as if I had one (and I'm sure I did) I can't find it now.
