Does anyone know if there is a common problem with the Merlin Multi 9 RCCB 4 pole 100Amp 300mA, not tripping as we have replaced an existing unit with a new one but the issue is the same,

Many Thanks

Mark

Have they disconnected all loads from the RCD?

Are they testing on the load side of the RCD?

Have they tried to test it with a temporary test lead connected to it? As sometimes they wont test directly on to the terminals.

The unit is still situated in the Dis Board, they have tried the test on one of the local circuits (kitchen ring main),

No temporary leads will have been used,

Well its worth trying it by disconnecting the loads directly on the terminals if that fails make a short testing lead up and try that.

My gast is flabbered, how in the name of god can anyone fall for that one?

For those with no grasp of the English language gast & flabbered equates to flabbergasted. Look it up in the OED.

So has the Electrician now refitted the original one back in as i suspect their was nothing wrong with that one either or is he now going to rip the customer of replacing a part that probably was ok.... had he known what he was doing in the first place the customer wouldn't have been lumbered with an extra cost.

Im also Ghastly flabbered!

Now why did that go through my nasty suspicious mind?
