Discuss Metal Light Switch + Plastic Back Box with no earth terminal in the Electrical Wiring, Theories and Regulations area at ElectriciansForums.net

I've tried to find a solution on here to this exact scenario but had no such luck.

Could somebody please advise on where I should place the earth wire on a plastic back box with no earth terminal when adding a new metal face plate? The face plate has an earth terminal on it and was probably going to connect the earth wire to that, but worried on whether it may become live in the event of a fault.

Thanks!

Fella if you have to ask something like that, it might be an idea to give Electrical work a miss.

That is the reason why you should connect the cpc to the face plate! (my bold)

there's only one way to make coffee. forget all this lattey, mucha, cappuchinka shyte........ 3 heaped spoons nescafe original, 3 heaped spoons sugar ( white of course), 1 fl.oz scotch, dash of blue top cow juice: accompanied by a king size, duty free smuggled marlboro.

i love breakfast.

the cow juice is optional, depending on whether the fridge has defrosted due to dodgy 1950's electrics.
