    Maybe raise the question with the designers responsible for that and get it in writing. But it is IP55 so...

    If the specification to which you are installing specifies a NEMA 12 enclosure then I would suggest that you raise the point that they are not designed for outdoor use, even though they meet the IP rating for outdoor use, and so they may not have sufficient longevity for the installed location.
    If you have done this then you are covered for any future problems.
