Anyone else had email from niceic about not going on napits register? Apparently napit just want your details for marketing reasons.....lol, it's getting like a school playground with these scams.

It's high time ALL sparks presented a united front & told all the scamsters to go do one, then get on with what sparks do - which is sparking.

We are urging our registered contractors not to provide their details to another similarly named web site or organisation purporting to act under the guise of safety. We believe it is merely a move to capture contact details for marketing purposes and a way to push forward their own commercial interests.

The other site does not have industry-wide support from the ESC or ECA and has unfortunately created confusion in the industry.

Registration on the Electrical Safety Register costs nothing to NICEIC, ELECSA and ECA members and is the first of many benefits the collaboration between The Electrical Contractors Association (ECA) and the Electrical Safety Council (ESC) will bring to both contractors, specifiers and consumers.

The register will be promoted extensively to consumers and specifiers of electrical work so that it becomes the number one searchable database for registered electricians. We have sent out more than 60,000 letters to MPs, local authorities, housing associations and other such leading organisations informing them about the register.

The ESC and ECA is proud of its rich heritage within the electrical industry. The NICEIC and ELECSA brands are names associated with trust, rigorous assessment of competence and quality of standards. With more than 50 years of experience the Register will become the definitive, trusted resource for anyone looking to employ a competent electrical contractor, whether in the domestic or commercial or industrial environme

Unfortunately not a chance, there's just to much money involved. Unless the gov has a change of heart and drops the scheme req which is unlikely as there will be more than a few mp's with a vested interest in some of the schemes. :(

Niceic "The ESC and ECA is proud of its rich heritage within the electrical industry."

well if the ECA and the ESC are proud of their `rich heritage` within the electrical industry
then surely the NIC and elecsa are proud of their rich heritage in the farmyard
(see #12)
could even be some parsnip peelins comin their way in the not too distant future...

Where did you get that piccie of my ex-wife, her mother & her sister???
Oohh!!

To be honest I can't give a monkeys about being on these so called "registers". In the last 3 years I've only got one job via the Elecsa website so I can't imagine things are going to change.

Now if there was only one site it may work, hang on, there already is, its the competent persons scheme site!! lol
