odd email

but when I click on it, it takes me to a dead link thing ?
has the site been compromised ?
or am I just stupid

I'm not aware of any Emails as such, ill pop you post in the Staff room for Admins attention and see if we can get any feedback, the forum has been attacked recently as was expressed by DAN the owner in a thread I started a few days ago, I don't believe the kind of attack would have compromised the site as such it only saturated the data flow to and from the servers and caused them to appear offline as they couldn't cope... see post below from DAN

Hi guys,

We have been experiencing some DDoS attacks this week. On one website instead of the usual 36,000 requests per hour we experienced 49 million.

So we've enabled a few protection systems and one of them is the annoying message you get every 5 minutes (I'll change that setting once a few other things have calmed).

Just waiting for this script kiddie and / or pleb to run out of botnet cash that will be coming out of his mummy's pocket money and then I'll disable it fully again.

it seems to direct you to a dea dlink, but with advertising links on it
probably checking how many email addresses are valid
