Yes we all start somewhere, for an electrician that somewhere is a few years working alongside an experienced mentor then a couple more years under loose supervision. Along with learning the science and regulations behind the trade.

To carry out PAT correctly you would do well to start with a copy of the current IET code of practice for ISITEE. The tests are similar to those carried out in installation testing but the applied test currents and voltages are different.
