Stroma Certification Scheme Passed Stroma Assessment

Well took the plunge yesterday and had my assessment and passed so happy days. Took 2 hours with lots of questions and some testing but chap was very friendly so put me at ease.

Just a side question to everyone, and this includes every 'scam' - is it even possible to fail lol? Does anyone know anyone thats never passed an assessment, they want you're money so they'll bend you over if they have too I PRESUME lol

Thanks. Cost was £288 and he did say I was the first one he had passed this week as the others weren't up to scratch, don't know whether to believe that or not!

People do fail. My Nic assessor was always telling me of poor work or non competent electricians that he had failed.

I think the Stroma assessment is more diligent than the Elecsa one!

I like doing my certificates "locally" on my laptop - and their system doesn't do this UNLESS you have a connection to the internet! Why is it that web developers think we have web access 24/7/52 ??

Nope, I don't think it is possible to fail. For my initial elecsa assessment I deliberately left a bond to an extraneous part disconnected and the bloke didn't even notice and I passed!

I set up as self employed last year and it wasn't a problem. Being asked to lock off the main switch and then take off the consumer unit cover was my favourite part of the assessment

Seems strange. I thought scams were only bothered about taking your money?

Stroma do seem to have a thing for this. Personally I think it is ridiculous and probably more dangerous as its a right faff to get the cover over the locking unit.

Have you had any sort of confirmation Lee? I had my assessment on the 17th Feb and the assessor said they give out the accreditation on a Friday so if it wasn't the 19th it would be the following (26th) but I haven't had any emails, unless it comes through the post?
