what in your opinion do these items fall under, pat (itisee) or eicr.?? Intresting to see peoples views.
1- extractor fan in bathroom/toilet with no flex
2- extractor fan in bathroom/toilet with flex to an outlet adjacent.
3- wall mount heater into fcu
4-electric shower
5- immersion heater cylinder
6- three phase roller door wired into three phase socket
7-boiler with flex from fcu.
8- towel rail into fcu


My opinion below
1- eicr
2-pat
3-pat
4- unsure
5- pat
6- unsure
7-pat
8- pat
 
Irrespective of categorisation, most of these appliances are more easily (and quickly) tested during a fixed wiring inspection and test than independently. It's only a matter of leaving the local isolator closed and IR testing the circuit plus appliance. Then checking earth continuity where applicable. Obviously, if you get a low IR reading, then you need to isolate and test separately to localise the fault.

Agree totally although if I get a low IR test that is the reading I include on the schedule as to me the appliance is part of the circuit.
