Power & Cat 5 in conduit

Hi

Not sure if this is the correct forum, but can anyone help me with the following connundrum.

Need to be able to run a 230v spur and some cat 5 in surface trunking. Now clearly they can't go in the same run but are there any "nice" looking ones around with the ability to carry the 2 cables in seperate compartments.

Neweys do 2 compartment trunking. It's only 38mm x 16mm so about 50% wider then YT2.

I don't have my regs to hand
however

Cat5, audio , coax comes into the range of extra low voltage which is below 100v
mains wiring whether it is single or 3 phase is classed as low voltage (upto 600v)
above that is high voltage

the different voltages shouldn't be mixed

running the mains so close to the Cat5e cable could induce a voltage and cause cross talk

I believe, that that is why the OP wants two compartment trunking.

iv never had problems with data and power together -as long as its only a short run together than you will be fine - its the long runs together, say on cable tray that causes the cross talk.

Data and power cables can be run together if the insulation of the band 1 cable (ELV) has insulation rated to the highest voltage present.

CAT5 is not bothered by mains due to the twisted pairs.
