Hello, I have a remote control ceiling light fan which has stopped working via the remote control. The light still comes on and off when using the main wall switch but that is it. The remote used to control the light and the fan movement but now nothing. I did the obvious and replace the batteries so guess that rules that out. Any ideas anyone? Thanks

Providing there are no loose connections in the fan, the receiver is probably faulty. What make of fan do you have? Some fans are mix and match to your own specification, Remote control being one option if so a replacement receiver may be available. There are also companies that specialise in spare parts for fans.

Hi thanks for responding, I did notice sometimes before it stopped turning on. The light would flicker and make a loud buzzing sound when selecting the fan to turn.

Flickering on load can indicate a loose connection (or a lot of other things) so it may be that some wiring has come loose in the light fitting where it joins to the receiver.

Some of these have 5 X 20mm inline fuses in the housing near the ceiling.Had one a few months back which caused me some head scratching until I took the light apart and found it.
