Hi guys
this is my first post.
I have just replaced my old (very) alarm, with a new panel and siren, with numerous zones and different programs.
What I would like to do is utilise an existing bell box. This is currently being held from ringing by a 12v battery, as it has an internal battery to make it ring.

My new box is a Honeywell optima compact which has terminals
13v 0v
strobe + -
scb T A
bell + -

My guess is to use the 0v to the wire I have connected to the temp battery -ve terminal, but I don't know which of the terminals which are being used by the siren. I am a bit worried about blowing something up if I try things out. Can anybody advise please

Would need to know terminals on bell box to help fully.......the optima terminals works as follows
bell + .....pos hold off
bell - ......neg trigger
scb A......neg hold off
scb T .....neg tamper return
strobe -......neg strobe

The bell box is very old as well, and rather hard to get too, and no diagram/ instructions. The only thing I know is that applying the 12v to two of the 4 wires stops it ringing when not alarmed. The other two wires I imagine will be the tamper loop.
i have a red wire connected to the battery + and a yellow wire to the battery -.
Is it possible to say which of the panel contacts to use?

You're only putting off the inevitable Hamish.
If it's that old you should change it.
The battery's probably had it anyway.

The inevitable will happen and I will replace the box this summer when the scaffolding is available to paint the gable end. For now I have connectedness the bell up to the 13v pair supply (I have no pirs fitted ).
The bell box wasn,t working a few months ago when I tested it, so I was surprised to be told it was ringing when I chopped it off. Maybe the spider has moved out
Thanks for the help.
