Rosemary tiles are the number one roof covering amongst our clients, so we're always looking for the best insatallation method. Over time we've used:

Click-fit (grind every tile and some flashing)
Standard roof hooks (grind every tile and some flashing)
Solar Limpets
Redtip and HookStop
and for the latest one we used:
Solar Slate 'Eric Tile'

In practice we had standardised on the the redtip and hookstops, until this last install. The material cost is almost identical to the hookstop option, and installation time we found similar - maybe fractionally slower as there are two parts to it and you can;t 'lob and extra one' up the roof like you can a hook stop.

Gong forward, were going to do the next few with the Eric tile - we can pick them up as they are literally only about 8 miles up the road, which is next door in the countryside :) before we decide wether to carry on or revert to Hookstops.

What are other peoples first choice and why?

We use hookstops with renusol variosol brackets it's very quick now and looks good.
I have seen the Eric toke sent by Mike but not too sure on how well that bracket would sit on the roof.
We so use the slate plate quite a lot and it's shaved hours off slate installs worth every penny.
The guys can install 4kw slate jobs by 2-3pm now! Looks great too.

We use hookstops with RedTip hooks. Works a treat. I'll be interested to hear how you get on with these Eric Tiles though.

Have used Limpets as are suitable for Scottish Roof construction (no battens). Like the look of the Slate Plate as would probably work on a Scottish Roof, but price is way too high. Using Limpets is expensive enough, the Slate Plate is 25% more than that.
