Don't tell me they stuck 230v straight into this thing, 'Risk of electric shock!'... mind you noting where these things venture, even 12v will make your eyes pop out :flushed:
 
They've been around longer than the battery powered ones!
You obviously know a lot more about these things than I Dave. :)

I'm guessing these things are double insulated with high IP ratings etc or are they supplied via a PSU like a laptop switchmode supply maybe?
