Seaward no more

My faithfull super nova took up smoking last week which has proved to be terminal ( the little double wound tranny melted) ) and seaward helpfull as ever said sorry, obsolete, but our website has blah blah blah yeah ok if you have 2 grand spare, so ebay it is, but after much research I am amazed at how many well known makes do not have the simplest of things available like downloadable manuals now I know moaned about Seaward, but they are on the ball with manuals so as my patguard software works with a whole range of Seaward testers its a no brainer really, back to ebay

Seaward have bought over clare instruments and we get the same obselete story when we look for spares for our clare testers

How old was/is your Seaward tester?

About 10 years I have had it about 7 been a great tester, heavy bugger tho

Wow, if it gave 10 years service then it's not bad. It is a shame they don't still have spares though...

I may try a few PCB board repairers I use for dom appliances, it looks like a standard wound dual output tranny and a couple of capacitors, I think I may remove the big toroid from the board it will reduce the weight by about a ton and send it away for a look see

Was thinking of getting a seaward, but if they cant be bothered to stock spares, then may give them a miss, shame as I like their new apollos.

Very impressed with seaward ken, however I preferred my primetest 350 to my Apollo 600 tbh - tho it is growing on me I have to admit
