Aico .... Best quality there is.
If you want low maintenance, they do their mains smokes with non-accessible, rechargeable 10 year lithium cells as backups.

Next he'll be moaning about the price, but I've seen Aico on offer a few times lately

Well if you have any going spare !!!!!,

No just thought people may know best place pick stuff up e.g specialist fire services places etc but sure TLC, tool station etc be sufficient

Get quotes from your local wholesalers once you have a full list of items. They will be far cheaper, in my experience, than advertised prices for Aico from the likes of toolstation.

the acel ones from electric center are decent quality and reasonably priced.

Re AICO equipment. I've noticed that they sell one that combines both smoke and heat in one unit. Any one here any experience using them? Thought that there were two types of smoke alarm to consider as well as the heat one. Also isolation switch, does one switch oversee the whole system to find out which sensor activated the alarms. I've looked at circuit diagram in AICO booklet whereby mains taken to first alarm, 3core to 2nd alarm. Between the two is shown a 3 core to isolation switch. I take it the 3 core to isolation switch can be electrically connected to either alarm position.

Reading the datasheet, only one is needed.
It disables the interconnect for 10 minutes.
