I'm trying to design a layout with a solar cell and 2 devices connected
the deign consists of a solar panel, laptop charger and powermat(which is used to charge cellphones).I need to know if i have a necessary components in place or is it missing
I made three designs and i'm trying to figure out which one makes sense. Each layout has 2 different solar systems which are far from each other

Hi Ick,

If this is an off-grid installation which I believe it it be, you will need a battery (only to act as a capacitor). Nothing too huge but I would recommend a Deep cycle AGM type.

You would also need to use an off-grid inverter and not the "Micro Inverter". Unless your two loads had DC inputs in which case you would not require an inverter at all.

I would also highly recommend a charge controller between the PV generator and the battery. This will smooth the voltage/current and protect the battery from overcharging and potentially leaking.

Layout 2 is the closest match in my opinion.

Regards,
Christopher

Thanks for responding.I wanted to achieve grid connectivity in this design.Since the solar panel can only give out around 80 watts of power. The system will be used 24 hrs a day.
Thanks for responding
