hi all, does anyone know if you can fit the new style rcbo into the old style board as i need to upgrade 2 mcb's to rcbo's

many thanks

QOE and SQO lovely no they wont fit and to make it worse the QOE are obsolete last quote for an RCBO was £145.00 , if i need one for this type of board i look on ebay ,me to mark hate that dam curly lead on the RCBO

Well i can tell you this. The Square D RCBOs are easier to fit than most of other brands and reason for that is they are shorter than others and it is because the front holes for L and N in Square D RCBO are horizontal, both are in same level. But in most of RCBOs they are vertical, N is in top of L. Couple of weeks ago I installed 6 Square D RCBOs in a CU, there was noway i could fit for instans Wylex or Volex in that CU.

i fitted 14 Square d into a board i must admit they are easy to install then you have 14 curly leads to contend with nightmare , wylex i have done a 14 way to and no problem crabtree no problem volex no problem (having said that they are all the same make anyway Electrium)

so as long as i get ones that are QOE then these will fit

Loool Nike, i think you are not curly fan :). Generally combination of RCBO + Old CU = Headache no argue about that.

The current breakers that are being sold in screwfix and the like are different to the ones in the link that I posted.
The current ones being sold with the fly leads comming from the top will not fit the quickline 2 boards or a least I could not get them to fit when I tried

Cheers Chris.
