Electrical work is fairly unique
The subject can be studied to many levels, and the tradesperson can specialise in many areas and sectors
If a person finds that the subject is interesting,then half the battle is won to begin with
Training can be enjoyable, and your aquired knowlege of the subject will always be expanded, sometimes to very lofty levels, out of the reach of us mere mortals
Despite many moans about the industry, that I and others often spout,I dont think there is a trade that can compare,especially with the independent thinking required of the operator and the above average brain function of the workforce that is, unfortunately ,sometimes not reflected by the value placed on those electricians,mainly because there is the option of the pretend tradesman,always lurking in this industry
To anyone thinking of taking up a career as a spark,I would advize them to study at home the basics of the theory and use places such as this forum, to see if they think they have the aptitude for it,especially before payng out the high fees that are payed by some, who do not have a realistic grasp on the reality compared to the dream
All in all,it is an excellent trade for someone who has the interest and ability,but it is not the best paid for various reasons,some of which are dependant on the percieved low value that electricians sometimes have in the publics minds
Places like Australia and New Zealand may have better value placed on the trade,I wouldn't know.
Migrating there for an electrican, seems more available than most occupations,so perhaps they are different there
Think hard before paying up for courses etc and be sure of what you want
