Hi Wilko. Yes I fully agree. Thank you. I think you are fully correct about the plug scenario and that for me is key. I have done electrical installations for commercial air-con installers before and they always specify a fixed supply rotary isolator, so the cpc is always connected. I think with this air-con guy, in this particular scenario, the fact that it's on a removable plug makes a big difference. It carries an earth if plugged in, but not if the plug is removed. Therefore, I think it should carry a bond regardless, or have a 13amp fused spur and become a fixed item of equipment where the cpc is always intact as its a class one unit. Thanks again for your input!I'm also thinking the change to a plug changes things. The scenarios you mention (wet, dry, connected, floating) could be tested ? Then you've got support for making changes to 100 installs, or not.
