Evening all. Working on a bungalow at the minute with the dreaded stramit walls.

All my new cables have been surface, galv capped and the builder is dot 'n' dabbing over. There is an existing radial serving sockets in the living room which is not being rewired. For those that are familiar with stramit, cables are fed through channels in the wallboard either up or down to the loft or floor void.

Do I class cables fed in these channels as reference method 103? If so this would make a 2.5mm radial rated at 13.5A. If that is the case what MCB do I put on that? Doesn't work does it?

Hi - just having a read about this type of construction, so def not expert. My thoughts are : if it's an early type with vertical chases into the compressed straw then I agree with your 103 thought and 10A is all :( .
Depending on exact building method it might be 102 (where is cable in the chase, how is chase filled) and then 16A or 20A may be ok.
Can the 2.5mm be replaced with 4mm? Or surface mounted?

No it is in the channel, surrounded by compressed straw. I may be able to get a leg back from the last socket to form a ring but its not going to be easy. Don't think i've got an option.
