Hello all

I've recently bought a used Audi TT and whilst getting to know the car found an unusual circuit board under the steering column. It looks like an aftermarket box of tricks has been fitted by someone. It is wired up and receiving power. There are four micro-switches on the board and has blue LEDs along with a red/green LED at the base of the board.

Does anyone recognise what this could be before I start dismantling the dash?

I did think it might be a Bluetooth device but nothing registers when I scan with my phone.

Could have been a wired remote for an aftermarket stereo, mounted on the steering column.

Any screw holes or sticky pad marks on the steering column?

Gaz :)

Deffo a 4 button key pad.

Ejection seat, smoke, missiles and self destruct maybe.

Have you pressed any?

Lol, I did think (hope) that. I pressed the buttons in some sort of order and did get a red light to start flashing which was a bit worrying!

Just uploading a video of the lights

The cable won't stretch that far and there are no signs of any mounting on the steering column.

Just found that by holding the top button for five seconds the blue LED's turn on and the bottom LED blinks red/green like it's entered some kind of programing mode. So far nothing has had an effect on the cars operation.

Could it be part of an aftermarket (hidden) security system?
