Hello caps,

A little advice please. I'm a sole trader and work has picked up and I'm in need of subbing some of it out. Am I right in saying I'll have to register and pay CIS? When they test and inspect do they do it under their company name or mine?

Thanks in advance

Yes you need to register with CIS and verify each subcontractor

Leesparky how does that company work? Do you transfer them the money then the pay the subby's?

£16 per subby adds up over the year?

Yeah you transfer them the money 2 days before the day the subbie is due to be paid and they pay them via bacs. Yeah £16 a week per subbie can add up but you just allow this in your prices as an overhead..£16 to take the legal responsibility from me is a non brainer imo.
