Teeside HNC Electrical and Electronic Engineering

Anyone started the foundation mathematics module? Currently doing it seems ok to start with, working through the lessons before going into the TMA. What are people's goals for this course, also what are your modules that take your fancy to specialise in and what reason, any particular areas that are most desirable for industry?

At the min I'm just enjoying getting my head back into maths again it's been a while.

Hi all,

Been very lazy and have not dome anything for about 6 months so thought it about time to do a module. Jest completed "Semiconductor Structure and Fabrication".
Was a very short module and though I have not got all my results back can say it was pretty straightforward as well. If you want a quick and easy module this is definitely one.
Can someone suggest another short module? I need one more before the hellish Electronic principles and the project.

I'm currently enrolled at the Teeside university, been getting through a few modules and about to start the module in Programmable logic controllers. If anyone wants to exchange papers to see where each other went wrong and to stop people making similar mistakes let me know

Hey Sparky2705 iv been accepted to do my HNC in Electrical/Electronic Engineering but unfortunately i need to do maths bridging module that iv just started today any pointers/valuable advice whats the best way to tackle it?
was told i can start hnc module 1 at same time although i need to pass it before i can progress to 2nd module, also how long does it take roughly to complete, just eager to get stuck right into my HNC.

Hi Dave1989, apologies for the delay in replying but I haven't been on here for a long while.
The course set up has changed as I'm sure your aware by now, very much relaxed in regards to deadlines for TMAS etc, I think the usual is anywhere between 2 and 4 years for completion but depends on how quick you can work through them. I'm currently on with Electrical Electronic principles quite complicated in parts if I'm honest, I have completed a few units so may be able to offer some advice and vice versa if you want, feel free to private message me.

Hi,
I started the HNC Instrumentation & Control Engineering (which I believe is mostly the same modules as the electronics HNC) in September 16 with Teesside University Open Learning, after completing the Foundation Maths 'access' course.
I had a quiet year with work last year and this HNC is something I have always wanted to do, so I decided to enrol.
Then typically work picked up and I have worked continuously 12 hours per day, 7 days a week since September, it's been hard to fit in the modules, but I'm slowly getting through it.
Is anyone else on here doing the same course? It would be good to speak to or meet up (when I get home) with someone else who enrolled at a similar time, to work together and exchange ideas/help each other out (I'm NOT asking for the answers!).
I'm out of the UK at the moment, but when I do occasionally make it home, I live in Teesside.

I am did HNC as a part time study at Teesside University, I already have covered 10 modules. Now i am doing HND Teesside University Open Learning at the same, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, anyone here doing the same?
Would be good to check similarities on regards TMA.
Actually i am doing:
Electrical Supply and Distribution Systems
Application of Pneumatics and Hydraulics

I have done that as a part time study, which modules have you done so far? I already done 10 modules for HNC and now doing TUOLE HND

I've done most of TMA1 for the science module and some of TMA1 for the analytics module, work has held back my progress quite a bit. I'm a bit hazy on maths so have sourced a maths tutor to bring up my knowledge, but haven't been home to meet up with him.
How are you finding the HND?

I am currently doing EEP, then most likely application of pneumatic's and hydraulics, then business management and then safety engineering and project, I still have one to choose to finish but I haven't decided yet, a relatively quick and short module to get it wrapped up this year I hope.
Sorry I forgot to mention that I have completed the bridging course, analytical methods and engineering science modules.

I am currently studying the HNC through distance learning with Teesside after transferring from UNICOURSE, I have completed the following modules:
AME, EEP, ES, DADC, EM
Have just started PLC however I need to get some ideas for my project and choose my last module from either:
Electrical Supply and Distribution or Combinational And Sequential Logic
Any help or advice would be very much appreciated.

Hi Gents, I have just started the HNC with Teeside. I had to do the Maths bridging course which I believe I have completed and submitted about 4 weeks ago but none of my three assessments have been marked yet. How long does it take to get a response once you submit your answers?

Hi folks,

Recently enrolled with Teeside uni topping up my HNC to an HND. The first module I have signed up to is Engineering Science.
As others have said, I'm finding the mechanical aspect a bit challenging coming from an electrical background but it's slowly making sense(I think).

Currently working on TMA 1.

How long has it taken others to complete this whole module? I'm aware that I need to complete 2 modules per year and I feel I've spent way too much time working towards TMA 1.
