So I was doing some fault finding today - and the customer said that they had had some recent work done - so I asked to see any paperwork that had been left..... they produced an EIC... this is what the scope of works was:




So anyone like to guess what they've had done?

and no there wasn't anything else written about the scope of works..

Obvious. Wiring was broken. They fixed wiring.

Your photo of the cert is too zoomed in, unless its my PC that is just displaying it like that. The portion of the one in question has two parts, the first one describes the description of the installation, hence the entry "fixed wiring", and the second part of that section describes the extent of the installation covered by that EIC.
What was in the second part?

No idea, that part of the cert is supposed to cover the work that was done. Why would an extension be as big as the existing house?
Is it just because it is a NAPIT form that there is a pedantic slant to this post? I'm not a member of them, BTW.

Not at all - more an observation is the complete inability of the competent person to outline the scope of works covered by the EIC

Well I can't comment on that, like I said I can't see it from the picture, but if it says "New extension", then it means the wiring that he has installed in the new extension, no? Does the place have a new extension?

So for the benefit of anyone else who can't see the "extent of installation covered by this certificate" (from an old NAPIT cert I have) box, what is written there? Might just be my PC that won't display it...

Yes he has!

Its the 2nd crxp description of works I've seen in the last 3 days... makes you wonder why we bother....

The heading of the box in the picture says "extent of installation"

Well like I said it hasn't come out very well on my PC. They must have changed the form as my old NAPIT certs don't have that Heading in the same place. If hes just put "fixed wiring" in the extent then hes a ---.

Why wouldn't anyone fill in a cert with as much detail as possible. The last thing I want is to be accused of doing something I haven't even touched!
