Ah yes @Pete999 youtube is the font of all knowledge! I see these yanks can't even be bothered to pull their own cables, I'm surprised it doesn't have a cup holder and a automatic gearbox.

@Pete999 you can't change your avatar. It's been like having the head teacher looking over the class - don't make me start a vote to reinstate Pete leaning against the kitchen counter with his birthday Tshirt on.

Done and dusted I'm afraid. But thanks anyway, I was fed up of that one anyway.

Cable sock on the end of the cable rod. The cable being taped to the side of the rod could be hitting the edge of the hole. Using the sock allows the cable to travel through the hole in the same route.Super Rod Super Grip Cable Connectors Pack 4-15mm 4 Pack - http://www.screwflix..com/p/super-rod-super-grip-cable-connectors-pack-4-15mm-4-pack/9302K?kpid=9302K&cm_mmc=Google-_-Product%2520Listing%2520Ads-_-Sales%2520Tracking-_-sales%2520tracking%2520url&gclid=CJby65jZ7dMCFQ5mGwodH5UGVQ&gclsrc=aw.ds&dclid=CM-AoJnZ7dMCFewh0wodhZoDmg

I assume that this is in a house I would take floor up rather than make holes in a ceiling unless it is being all re-plastered as no matter how good made good you can always see the difference.

Do they never let go? I would always feel that a little bit of tape was needed 'just in case'!

Easier to make a hole in ceiling and make good than take up a carpet or laminate. Biggest obstacle is explaining to the customer that you know what you are doing! "Trust me"

The harder you pull the tighter they grip. I've never lost a cable from the end of one unless I wanted it to come out. Easier to get the cable off the rod than tape, you just push the gripper down and out it pops.
