hi

just wondering which brand of trunking do you guys generally use. would you say all trunking is the same? i usually get the stuff they have a tlc or screwfix and to be honest don't notice much difference (except tlc trunking is in 3m length whereas screwfix can be 2m)

is there any trunking thats better quality than other?

cheers

I assume you are referring to plastic mini trunking? I've been berated on here before for saying it but the best mini trunking I have used is centaur from CEF. It is neat, well made and unlike most can be mitred and set rather than using fittings in certain circumstances. The fittings are good if used.
I've used marhall tuflex and couldn't get on with it.

Yes sorry meant pvc mini/maxi trunking.
I'll check out centaur next time I go to CEF. Cheers

I find that the self adhesive version from Screwfix doesn't stick very well and gererally needs a few screws to keep it in place. I tend to use Schneider and never have any problems. For larger sizes I use Falcon from Superlec, and its far cheaper that local wholesalers!

Oh ok. Thanks.

Do you know what local wholesalers sell the Schneider trunking?

I have moved to using Screwfix. I like full range of corners and end stops making the end result neater and quicker than my fabricated corners.

The sticky on trunking is only as good as the paint surface it is attached to, so I always secure to a surface with screws regardless of the surface, so the sickly is only to hold in place until screwed in place. Screwfix does sell the trunking sticky in a separate role, so I use it to secure the 38mm trunking until I can screw it in place.

I rarely fabricate corners. Where centaur scores is that the lid enables it to be mitred over lips in the wall etc.....not possible with other brands. I will try later to post a photo.
