Hello, I have electric underfloor heating in our bedroom under ceramic tile. there are two systems wired to one touch screen stat, (1x15m & 1x5m) they were installed about 2 years ago and worked great for about 8 month. now the larger one does not heat up? i have tried wiring it direct to the stat without the other one and still nothing. I managed to test it with a meter and it is o/c (there is no resistance at all) i know it can be fixed but i dont know how. any advice please?

Finding the break is the hard part , specialist companies , or your floor supplier will have the equipment needed. It may work out cheaper than trying to do it yourself .
Have the tiles been disturbed in any way? Have you tried a cold tail to earth test to see if that is shorted?

Most likely suspect (bar damage) is the join at the end. We have replaced a few that had burnt out but this was due to damage and was under carpet.

depending on how its wired we use a couple of methods audio tracer puts a tone down the cable you can trace till it stops do this on both ends will find the break. or favorite is turn it on and use a infared hand held camera you will see the break through the tiles.
a company charges on average 2-300 for this. and they will fix it. to fix just use a butt through crimp.
usual problems cracked tiles where floor moved and ends the cold tail and final end as resu mentioned.
