Hi guys and gals,

Just a quick one to let you know about the recent downtime.

We have some hard disk related issues with the SSD. We have a new server built and it's being customised, and we'll swap the data to it once it's secure.

You shouldn't see any downtime during that process, but you might find the odd glitchy period while we're still loading off of the old server over the next 12/24 hours. Each time it goes offline we get an alert and will restore the glitchy files that didn't manage to get read/written to properly, and it'll come back up, but it's a case of cat and mouse during this time while we keep things rolling just enough to get on this new server.

The current server is a couple of years old now, so rather than just swapping to another drive on it, we'd rather get a new one built.

Hang in there.

Thanks for your patience. :)

Well done mate !!!!!!

They're good lads there. Been the same mods and regulars on there since the start pretty much. And there aren't really any other plumbing forums around. So they all get along and it's a lovely place to head to when things get bitchy on the other forums lol

Weird how that old forum software survived the dodgy server issues the easiest though eh.

Do the plumbers post as many pics? I have seen graphics load knock the stuffings out of moving parts and eat BW. Anyway, good job !!!

It isn't that mate. The SSD has died. We're managing to load from it, and we've split off some duties, cut back on cron jobs, took backups off-site, done some other tricks.

But the plumbers software is akin to an old ford cortina, so providing its got fuel and spark plugs it'll work, you could even use an adjustable spanner for steering, lets say. lol

The tilers and sparks is akin to a hybrid or something, so unless it's connected to NASA 24/7 and has GPS active and the roads are clear, it wont even turn into the left lane. Let alone run well.

rpm2 are you rpms older brother, if so tell him i miss him, if however you the same person then that's like the worst disguise ever :D:D:D

Happy to be back. Them plumbers never did unblock the loo.
