I can't fathom out why this answer has been given on Volitmum Q&As

Q & A of the Day – What fused connection units to use for these fan-heaters? - Voltimum UK - Electrical Installation Products and Contracting

I would have thought that as long as he uses 4mm cable, and the cable fits into the terminals on the heaters ok then he will be fine. He obviously needs to be able to isolate the heaters, and the FCUs would be able to provide that function. But why are they saying the 32A OCPD will not provide sufficient overload protection?

"We suggest that you will need to use
fused connection units for each fan, as the 32A MCB will not provide sufficient overload protection for each individual load."

All they are saying is that you need a FCU for each Heater/Fan. The MCB will provide protection for the circuit, the individual FCUs protection for each heater/fan.

They are saying you need to have a fused spur for each heater to provide sufficient overload protection for each individual load m8

because the cable to each unit will be probably 1.5mm or 2.5mm and so will need fusing down accordingly. it's the cable to each fan heater that needs the protection, not the fan heater.
