Hi everyone, i am new to this so please bare with me lol.

I trained to be an electrician for 3 years around 10 years ago. I gained my nvq level 1 and 2 and technical certificate level 3.

But after i tried to get employment so i could do my nvq level 3 but failed.due to the recession so i decided to abandon the idea of becoming an electrician.

Recently i have decided to get back into it and become a fully qualified electrician. The only problem i have is i cannot find any information about qualifications i will need to become fully qualified or the process in which to gain them.

If anyone could help me out with this matter it would be very much appreciated.

Thank you in advance, regards.

Hi there, I've recently just fully qualified as a electrician, I was at college in Newtown, Wales (great college), I was doing a level 3 city and guilds electrical engineering, in that includes aspects of test and inspection.
It does not include the 2394-95 to sign off other people's work.
After you complete your 17th edition exam, (not as bad as you think) you will have to do the AM2.
Hope this helps! A lot of work, but it pays off in the end

Yesterday, I was chatting with someone quite high up in the ESC.
Apparently if you do not have an NVQ3, if you do not have an AM2, if you have neither, you should obtain a 'mature candidate assessment'.

You didn't ask them where my adult trainee card was, did you? I sent off for it 4th April. Emails and phone call - nada!
