I was called to a job that had a dryer blow up and cause smoke damage to a launderette. Machie. Had failed due to age etc.
To Keep it brief there was no visual damage whatsoever apart from the machine that has been scrapped anyway and taken before id even seen it. i did usual tests on switch spur point that the machine was connected to. (old gas powered commercial machine) zs, r1+r2 and insulation etc out and checked fuse.

is there such a thing a visual inspection form or could just type a letter indicating my findings. I dont feel it need a full EICR for what i was asked to carry out. Its just the cleanup firm that requested the wotk needs some form of paper evidence it was inspected by a qualified electrician.

a written report would suffice in this case. something like "damage caused by faulty appliance. appliance dissed and circuit tested to ensure safety for continued use. test results attached".

You should really complete an EICR but confine its scope to the circuit that you inspected ONLY

No there is no "visual inspection form".
As stated above a covering letter word be the way forward.

You can easily create your own suitable report based on the EICR model forms of you wish.
There's nothing to say you must stick the model forms, they are really just examples to show the required info
