Work Boots

I have better getting and wearing scruffs work boots from my wholesalers for 2 years or more. But they dont seem to last. Either the stitching comes undone or bits start to come unglued. The last pair I bought the stitching started to come undone after 2 or 3 weeks so my wholesaler changed them for a supposed industrial pair that should of been £75 a pair. Well these have lasted 4 months and now look knackered. Where the sole comes up over the front and rear bit has come unglued.

A fellow spark tried Dewalt and found them to be wanting too.

Most of my work is domestic so its in people homes and also extension etc so I am using the boots for the normal use they should be designed for. I remember the days when boots/shoes etc would get thrown away because the sole wore away.

Im not that worried about the cost, I just want something to last,obviously steel toe caps are needed

Anyone got any recommendations

I use the dewalt apprentice boots and honestly can't fault them. I've used the same pair almost daily for over 2 years and even the original laces are still in them.

Hi - I too am a Dewalt footware fan - looking at mine, they're called Titanium. They are a bit over a year old, cop a flogging outside and were the first ones that didn't kill my toes so I stuck with them. They will likely last another year I reckon.

My scruffs are looking 'scruffy' but are now so comfortable I don't want to do that 'first day at school' deal with discomfort and moaning! I was looking at the dr Martin industrial range. May go and try some on in Arco and run out toute suite! (Won't really!) they do look good though and that's very important.

Been using a pair of Screwfix cheapo Site boots for ages, they seem to be lasting well & quite comfortable.

I see mine are on the list lol.
I have used Cat boots for years , toe cap and insole, comfortable and long lasting .
Laces are a let down after about 18 months .
The sides do split eventually after a lot of squat work.
Around £70 to £85 gets me up to 3 years without severe damage to them.

Colt VR609 brilliant had them two years. They are composite so really lightweight. You know how you feet get heavy walking in steels they dont in these. Proper leather so let your feet breathe.
