If there is no meter then the house is not a consumer and the gas pipe belongs to the gas supply company, not the householder so don't bond it.
It is a new one to me being a Gas Safe Registered fitter !

Nonsense, you obviously don't understand the purpose of bonding.

Bonding is installed to all conductive parts likely to introduce a potential in to an installation with the purpose of maintaining those conductive parts at the potential of the supply earth.

Oh this has been dragged up again I see, and yes I bonded it, I drilled a small pilot hole, ring crimp on the end of cable then a self tapper, jobs a good n'

I too am a Gas Fitter - or was until i retired - and I'm here to tell you that YOU are an embarrassment to the trade.
