I was just thinking how commercial electrical work is not notifiable to building control as it doesn't come under part P, but there's a lot of other building regulations that can come up depending on the extent of the electrical work, we're talking part L and teams from BREEAM turning up. So it can easily get to a point where lots of people can get involved.

Isn't it also down to an AXA specification that NICEIC rather than other schemes registration is a requirement?

Any thoughts?

Hi,which AXA specification?

Sorry should have been clearer, I don't have it substantiated, but I heard there was one insurance provider that specified that electrical works on the insured premises must be carried out by an NICEIC contractor rather than one belonging to another scheme. Is my information completely wrong?

I suppose being a private company, they can specify who they like, for historical reasons that usually means Niceic

In domestic it makes little difference which scheme clown company relies on your wallet for its existence, however,in commercial and industrial it still opens doors if you are approved with nicy

Anyway my main interest was talking about how many regulatory bodies can get involved in projects. Especially meeting new BREEAM targets for day light detection.

sodd breeam whatever it's called, i have personal daylight detection, called eyes. if it's daylight i can see. if it is dark, i can't.
