Nice mate! This one is a bit of a chore but it’s not too bad. I’ve got TMA 1 and 2 so far and not really done anything for complex wave forms/transients. Any issues with first two just give me a shout!

What you thinking of taking after these core ones?

Looking at PLCs for one of the chosen units - Knowledge and experience with PLCs seems to be a basic requirement for most jobs advertised.

Working in commercial sector I have never encountered PLCs so completing the unit should give me at least a basic understanding.

As for other units, I have no idea! What are you thinking of taking?

Well it always seems worthwhile to do a design one. However yeah PLC definitely, I’m currently working in industrial and it is my first exposure to PLCs but everything pretty much uses them, seems to save a lot more space and money have a PLC than the hardware equivalent of relays etc. Maybe the analogue and digital one? I’m just trying to decide on the other level 5 you can do for the HNC as I’m unsure if I’ll go onto the HND. You started learning circuit theory yet?

Just about to complete my 7th module for my HNC which is the level 5 Electrical and Electronic Principles, ---- its hard!

I have recently completed the PLC and the Supply and Distribution modules, both were relatively easy compared to some of the modules.

Happy to help anyone or point people in the right direction, wish I had joined this forum earlier and found you lot for help. I have aged 6 years in the last 3.

Definitely hit me up, I’m nearly finished EEP these last 2 topics/ assessment are heavy. I found the first 2 okay, so if you need help just ask.

I’m looking at doing PLC module but was told it takes a while to get the kits, did you have any issue with that?

What modules did you do?? PLC is definitely one I want to do as I use them in work. But wanted to see if any others were good?

I found PLC quite difficult as it is not my forte or have any experiance of programming logic circuits. Took me a while to get into the module and ended up spending 6 months to complete the assignments, the software is rubbish that they supply but you have to use it to do the assignment questions. Its just infuriating and basic and not compatible with windows 10 so I had to run in compatibility mode which meant it kept crashing, especially on the bigger programs.

So far my list of modules completed is:-
Analytical Methods for Engineers
Engineering Science
Digital and Analogue Devices and Circuits
Distributed Control Systems
Programmable Logic Controllers
Electrical Supply and Distribution

The first few lessons of EEP seem ok but from there on in past Nortons/Thevinins theorems its getting pretty heavy. I peeked at the later lessons and just pages and pages of calcs... Oh the joy!

What are your plans once the HNC is complete? Will you continue on with a HND or settle with HNC?

A colleague of mine said I should try for chartered engineer status. It is possible for mere morals to achieve but feels a bit like purchasing letters to put next to my name rather than education achievements.

I've just found this thread as I'm needing help with my HNC.
Struggling to manage the course, work and family life.
I'm looking to do 'Electrical and Electronic principles' or 'Electrical Machines' next.
I have completed my 'analytical methods' and 'engineering science'
I would appreciate any help with my modules.

Yeah I think I will end up doing the HND just struggling to find the motivation wth EEP as the second assessment/lessons are just a bit uninteresting. I think the ones you’ve done look like ones I’d do but I’d also like to do design modules aswell. The factory I work in do a lot of installations and mods themselves so would be good to get into little projects! I’ve just started learning Laplace formula, it makes sense just the math off the last 2 topics are equation heavy!

Got my results back and some how got a distinction! Just started PLCs now and really enjoying it. My first TMA to do for this one soon

To be fair EEP is okay until the last one! Gets a bit tricky

I'm working my way through EEP and struggling with the last assignment Have passed the first two with Distinction and Merit, but finding the 3rd really hard. Namely Q3 and the following 3 questions.
I have done the following units and passed either Distinction or Merit - AME, DADC,EM,ES, SE, so am willing to help anybody i can?

Hi guys,

Currently on pneumatics and hydraulics but need help with tma1 question 3,4 & 5

Have done tma2 & 3 and received merits so I can help out

Also completed AME, ES and EEP with distinctions.

Also cant decide what module to do next
