It has recently been pointed out to me that EN 60335-1 section 24.2 that switches cannot be used in flexible cords. Why then can I buy a table lamp from a major UK store with a switch in the cord? Are there exceptions to the rule?

Hi. I am regularly using a 1653 test kit and have not got around to experimenting with saving test results and transferring to my computer at a later time. I was just wondering if anyone has had experience in using it and is it compatible with Amtech software etc.

Was browsing on a Domain name search website (GetDotted.com), and wondered what Part P websites were left (to design and link to from my own). Almost all the ‘partp’ names, variants, and address (.co.uk/.com/.info), are either owned by the NICEIC, or the ECA!
Spooky...

Just need a little confidence booster regarding pricing.
Anyone give a ballpark figure on the following works. Done me pricing but not given the quote just yet.
Its more labour costs i'm concerned with really, as materials cost what they cost.
Cheers poeple.

Action4careers
They have placed numerous adverts on the Jobcentre site and other job search sites advertising for apprentice electricians / training etc. There appears to be no web site and Google does not bring back anything useful.
I'm not sure if I...
It’s been suggested I look into joining this scheme by one of the construction companies that I work for.
I’ve been trawling through their website, but can’t find what exactly they need from you? It seems to be a case of applying and paying the fee, then they tell you what they need?

Any advice greatly appreciated
