How to change this recessed bulb?

Since we moved house, the light above the front door hasn't worked. Picture attached. Looking at it, does anyone know how to remove the lamp? The black fixture tilts in the outer holder but I don't know if that's just designed to allow the bulb to be angled.

Hi guys Carrying out a rewire on my property and I am hoping to use my old board as it is an RCBO board 8way. However in the future I may add circuits and may have to update the board to a larger one. In order to do this however the consumer unit would have to be moved to an adjacent wall as...

RCD a but slow. Time for a change?

I tested a customers BS4293 MEM 100A, 30mA RCD, which is about 25 years old, after it tripped overnight. The trip time at x 1 was 207.2, 78 and 54.2 ms at 0 deg. and 68.6 ms at 180 deg. I know that the limit is 200 ms, so one reading was slightly over, which is why I repeated the test. At x 5 it...

A bit of levity for a change my collection of one liners.

If I could take just one thing to a desert island I probably wouldn’t go. Always leave them wanting more, my uncle used to say to me, which is why he lost his job in disaster relief. I’ve decided to sell my vacuum cleaner. Well, it was just collecting dust. Apparently, one in three Britons is...
