Hello all,
I am now in possession of a circular from C&G detailing the changes to the short courses.
BS7671:2008 (2011) and City and Guilds qualifications.
Here goes.
How will the wiring regulation changes affect the 2391 inspection, testing and certification of electrical qualification...
I did my part 1 and 2 city and guilds in the 80s and also did the course c, then in recent years the 17th course and then even more recent the 2391.
I never did the AM2.
Not sure what the equivalent pt 1,2 course c equivalents are and whats the NVQ 3 ?
Can anyone enlighten me?
Evening All,
I have City and Guilds 236 Parts 1 and 2 and have recently completed my 17th Edition and also have my City and Guilds 2391 Inspection and Testing.
My question is: does the industry still recognise my City and Guilds 236 Parts 1 and 2?
Thanks
Tony
Watching tv at moment more 4pluss 1 about a bunch of the public all chipping in and building houses.Girl on there says she has a city and guilds level one which allows her to do only domestic electrics. My question is what is this qualification?

To start off I will introduce all the exams you will have to take for this course, I haven't passed it yet but I know what they want from you. This may be different from what you're actually doing, I heard the 204 is luminaire and 3 phase testing but I have been told at college it was like this...
It's not that important, but has anyone else noticed the City and Guilds website has been down since friday? www.cityandguilds.com
I just had a query re one of my certificates...no worries I am sure it will be back up soon, I hope.

Hi all,
I really need clarification, HELP!
I am a qualified and experienced electrician , however those experience and qualifications have been gained in France.
I now live in uk and would like to work in the trade or related trade such undustrial maintenance since I gained all my electrical...
I have bought some books but I would definitely rather have DVDs, CDs, anything that you can watch because reading books is so boring that every 10-15 minutes I completely loose concentration which leads to giving up.
I know the basics- Ohms law, Power, Joules, C.S.A and Length.
But I am not so clear on Lenz's law, Faradays law and some others which I can't even remember.
Sorry if I come across a bit thick, This is my first year of electrics.
I am starting to struggle with keeping up with the Jobs. And I'm scared I will not finish them and fail the course. I feel comfortable with the theory but a little nervous about the practical side at the moment and I'm actually loosing sleep over this.
Any tips for me? :(
Thanks.
it`s worth a try if you are intending to do a C&G course.
here
a scholarship/bursary is a fully funded course that you will receive for free awarded directly from C&G themselves. give it a god if you don`t ask you don`t get.
