I looked at a job today in commercial kitchen.
They want power run to a 15.5kw cooker, now obviously this would come in around 67a. Applying diversity
it comes to around 27amps.
Would you use a 32amp mcb with 6mm t&e?
Or would you recommend 40amp mcb with 10mm? since it's not a domestic...
Currently on a job refurbishing a bungalow. The customer has completely changed the layout of the property taking walls out and putting new partition ones up. They have created an en suite in the master bedroom and require a power shower in here as well as the existing bathroom. Im working with...
As above why is this as I have had a thought and a 20a 2.5 mm cable would be sufficient?
Even in my new built it has an oven and hob both 32a radials for each on 6mm cable? Each with a 13a plug on the appliance as diversity shows around 10a max.
so even with an upgraded appliance I don't see...

Hi.
I am installing a new Hob and oven
the hob is induction 7.2kw
the double oven is 6.8kw and is to be hard wired
At the moment there is a 6mm 32amp supply for the hob
and a dedicated oven circuit on 2.5mm and 16 amp breaker
I have worked the oven with diversity to be just under 16amps.
I...
Good evening all,
I just joined the community and I really hope I can contribute as much as I could be helped. Really.
I'm completing my 2365 lvl3 course however I just got my 305 B assessment paper back. Apparently I didn't calculate well the max. Demand and diversity of a given circuit...

Morning
i have calculated my max demand as 69.6a (sum of mcb's x 0.4)
and on my eic i have n/v the main head fuse- but on the sticker it says 60/80a (i know it could actually be 60 or 80 or 100 inside)
this is the job i am using for my niceic initial assessment
will this be asked about by...
Hi
We are doing some refurbish work at my house and I am planning to run a new feed to the garage and install a DB. Mainly because I don’t trust the exciting wiring in there and I have no idea where its supplies from. Plus I would like a separate DB as I use a lot of tools in the garage and I...
Could someone just check my maths and thinking please.
Induction Hob 7.2kw = 7200/230 = 31.3 A
Double Oven 6.6kw = 6600/230 = 28.7A
Total Load = 60A
Apply diversity
10A + 30% of remaining load
60 - 10 = 50 x 30% = 15A
Diversivified load = 10 + 15 = 25A
So a 6mm T&E on a 32A MCB will be ok...
Hi there hope you can shed some light.
Ive got a cooker rated at 3.5kw
A hob at 6.4 kw
Now if i look to apply diversity to this to run a single T and E to a cooker switch the from the switch to a click double cooker connection point.
is this correct?
3.5kw =15.2 A
6.4KW = 27.8 A
TOTAL =...
Hi wonder if u could help me
Just rewiring a 3 storey house that's going to be student lets, communal kitchen lounge bathrooms etc
I have worked out the following diversity and demand
Emergency lights 6a x 0.66 = 2.64a
Smoke alarm 6a x0.66 = 2.64a
4 light circuits 4 x 6a x 0.66 = 10.56a

Just a quick question on diversity. I need to apply diversity to a 10amp high voltage neon sign, looking at On site guide, is it a simple as 90% of full load meaning the answer is 9 amp???
just visited a customer who requires a 7.3kw hob connected to replace existing gas hob. Currently has a 2.3kw single oven connected to a 4mm T+E cooker radial (ref method c) Protected by a 32amp MCB
i advised that for the hob to be installed the cooker radial would have to be rewired using 6mm...
Hi all,
Who applies diversity to a built in oven (as opposed to a cooker)?
Some do and some say you must not.
An example would be a single built in oven, total load of 3.4kW; in theory it will draw nearly 15 Amps, however if one applies diversity (W/O a socket) it will draw just under 11.5...
All electric houses will become increasingly common. (Not far down the line we must be all electric renewable since we are toast if we burn more gas).. But that's not the point for discussion.
What are the views on the murky world of diversity when it comes to vehicle chargers? It can already...
Would you apply diversity to a integrated fan oven?
For instance a 3.5kw fan oven is never going to pull 3.5KW
So using normal cooker diversity it would bring current down to around 11A from 15A
Meaning a FCU would be ok as opposed to a new circuit?
Hi, please be kind to this Electrical Trainee fresh out of the forces. This is my first question on the forum. One thing that was not discussed in depth on my course was diversity, and reading up there seems a fair bit of subjectivity and difference of opinions on it.
Now that I have my shiny new quals...
Hi, i am attempting to do the 2396 exam and in the process of doing a practice paper.
