My home inspector has never seen this before

I’m in escrow on a 1977 octagon home and my inspector said that he has never seen a panel like this before (he did not look inside of it since he is not an electrician And it’s bolted shut pretty good). What is something like this going to cost to replace? He “guessed” 4k.

    Never stripe cable like that...

I quite like this lads Vids , but at roughly 12m17s he demonstrates how to peel back & strip twin and earth ... the bit where he uses the cable shears to pinch the top of the cable is a BIG NO NO to me , too much pressure and you would cut into the copper cores. Grrr thoughts ....?

It's for almost double what I earn now, however, a large portion of their work...

I never install ring circuits, the potential for danger is unacceptable

I’d like to know if anyone else here refuses to install ring circuits in domestic premises. For me it’s either a 20a radial / tree circuit with 2.5mm, or a 32 radial / tree circuit with 4.0mm. Frankly I’m tired of finding broken ring circuits on 32a CB’s, as well as mismatches on end to end...
