Hi all new member here currently retraining to be an electrician 18 months in so far after being a plasterer since leaving school enjoying the journey 😎
Hi there : I am just posting to introduce myself, stop lurking (!) and to thank the many sparks who so freely share their expertise on this great forum.
I am in my 50's, based in the South West near Gloucester, and am approaching electrical work as a second career. I have my 18th regs...

Great to be joining such a supportive and interactive forum. Should anyone have any questions about my company or the products we sell just give me a shout!
Seen a couple of videos with Doncaster cables now producuing a T&E with the CPC already sleeved so no need to fit our own.
I also read somewhere that this will soon become the norm and will have to be installed to comply with the regs instead of the regular cable.
Any truth in that?

Hi, Hoping someone can clarify for me. I've recently moved into a rental property, the landlord had new electric radiators installed and a new consumer unit. Would this require a new EICR?
I've been having issues with burning smells from the plug sockets so now I'm concerned about the safety...

So I’m an apprentice and only get to do downlighter jobs as foreigners at the weekend, but they’re typically added when the customer no longer wants a pendant so the ceiling is already finished and I’ve never seen downlights being wired while the ceiling is exposed and then finding them after...
